Dressage is the first phase of Combined Training or as some know it Eventing. This is the most serious of all the phases, it takes endless practice,concentration, and unity between the horse and rider.

Cross Country is the second phase (but  is now often the third) in this grueling competition. It is also called the most fun phase of all the competition because this is where you have more freedom to wear, and go as fast(as long as not to stress the horse), and you almost fell completely free, for clothing example you can have one or more colors (other than black, brown, and white) such as:red, green, blue, yellow, purple, maroon, etc.

Jumping,the last part of the show (now days is often the second part). This  part has many tight turns and tricky fences, and you are jumping against the clock!
